Project Overview
Norton Bottom Wing Line Conveyor
QPI delivered a major conveyor extension package for Breedon at Norton Bottom, supplying and installing 402 metres of galvanised field conveyor structure to extend the site's wing line conveyor.
The scope included all rollers, structure and timbers, together with a centrally mounted pull key extension and new wind hoops for the extended section. Drawing on extensive experience in conveyor structure fabrication and installation, QPI provided a robust, galvanised solution built to withstand the demands of a live, busy quarrying operation through the winter months.
Alongside the structural works, QPI supplied a new drive and loop unit complete with a 45kW drive motor to suit, ensuring the extended line was matched with the power and control needed to run reliably from day one. The team also supplied 800 metres of 600mm wide 500/3 5+1.5 conveyor belting to the site's conveyor as part of the wider package.
In support of the works, QPI delivered a full range of components to site in line with the customer's purchase order, including 86 off 003 rollers, 152 off 001 rollers, pull wire boxes, cable and pig tails, 3 metre stringers, and two pallets of sleepers, ensuring the site had everything required to complete the installation without delay.
The Norton Bottom Wing Line Conveyor project highlights QPI's ability to deliver complete conveyor extension packages, from structure and belting through to drive systems and site delivery, working closely with customers to keep material handling operations moving efficiently.
